MANDY ZEE
Mandy Zee (born Amanda Zeboski) was born and raised in Sacramento & began playing piano at an early age. Before long, she started to take an interest in playing classical piano pieces at around the age of 12 with her most adored era of music being the Romantic period for its more emotive qualities. She began writing music at around age 15, but with a more "contemporary" sound, as she wanted to be more relatable to her peers. She continued to receive private piano lessons until the age of 21.
During her early 20's, her compositions took a more soulful, jazz-oriented tone. Though she had never studied jazz during her time of receiving private lessons, it had always fascinated her because it contrasted so much with the structure & planned nature of classical compositions. She also is greatly influenced by the sound of drums & bass & tries to incorporate their rhythmic patterns into her written works. She has played solo shows around Sacramento playing her more singer/songwriter songs; however, her recent interest is recording and collaborating with other musicians for projects that have different sounds and influences. In her spare time, she teaches one-on-one piano lessons at a private elementary school & also has students that she acquired on her own. She enjoys drawing--mostly black and white work but has recently ventured in to the realm of incorporating color(s). |
