UPCOMING
CDP strives to make dance accessible to everyone in our community by committing to affordable ticket prices for our annual Behind the Barre program. Since our inaugural performance in 2015, we have proudly provided over 1,600 fully sponsored tickets to youth across the broader Sacramento region.
CDP continues its Behind the Barre community outreach programming in 2024 in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Sacramento. Participating students will have access to outreach classes and performance previews, including Behind the Barre rehearsal and one-on-one time with CDP artists for an in-depth look and understanding of the creative and collaborative process.

Sensory Friendly Dance Performances
CDP's Sensory Friendly Dance Performances invited individuals living with autism, sensory, social and learning disabilities, and their families, to a live dance performance designed to make everyone feel accepted, safe, and comfortable in an inclusive theater environment. Since 2017, CDP presented this performance series for over 800 audience members, and thanks to many generous sponsors & donors we were able to keep ticket prices at an affordable $5, as well as offer 300 free tickets to struggling families. |
Sensory Friendly Dance Classes
Beginning in 2018, thanks to a California Art Council grant award, CDP developed introductory dance classes series for individuals with autism, or other related disabilities, to participate in the power of dance! The classes offered individuals of all ages the opportunity to express themselves in a judgement free zone, benefit from power of physical exercise, and the ability to socialize in a nurturing and inclusive environment. |
Since its launch with Capital Dance Project, Sensory Friendly Dance has now become its own entity! Learn more about upcoming Sensory Friendly performances and more here:
