Capital Dance Project is back with our 4th annual
Behind the Barre: Made in Sacramento! On August 10th and 11th, CDP will present 9 world premiere dance works in collaboration with Sacramento's most exciting visual artists and musicians at the historic Crest Theatre in Downtown Sacramento. Don't miss this one of a kind event celebrating Sacramento's vibrant and diverse art scene!
Sensory Friendly Dance Classes
Capital Dance Project is excited to launch a new aspect of our summer season in addition to our annual performances - Sensory Friendly dance classes. Artists of the Capital Dance Project will lead introductory dance classes for individuals with autism or other sensory related disabilities. The classes will focus on creative movement, light stretching and above all else, allowing the students to experience the freeing movement of dance in a non-judgmental environment.
Behavior Therapists will also be on hand to assist the class. Fidget toys, noise canceling headphones, stress balls, and bean bag chairs will be provided to help ensure the class is welcoming and comfortable for all students.
Head to our Classes page for more information!
