Capital Dance Project has come a long way since our inception in 2015, but one thing remains the same - passionate and innovative dance performances supported by our fantastic community.
Mark Your Calendars for May 3, 2018 - Big Day of Giving! Capital Dance Project is thrilled to announce that this year we will be participating in our very first Big Day of Giving!Last summer, due to the generosity of our donors, we were able to donate 100 free tickets to our Sensory-Friendly Dance Performance and 200 free tickets to our Behind the Barre performances to individuals from underserved communities. This summer, we hope to use Big Day of Giving to raise enough funds to ensure that we are able offer these tickets again, furthering our mission to make dance accessible to everyone. End of Year Giving Campaign Success Thanks to many generous donors, CDP raised $3,040 between Tuesday November 28th-December 31st 2017 during our End of Year Giving Campaign. These funds have helped us kick start our 2018 summer performance and event plans, and will enable us to continue our efforts to create diverse and inclusive performances for our community. Thank you for your support!
CDP collaborator Michael Vester Awarded a City Grant We are thrilled that former Sacramento Ballet dancer and CDP collaborator Michael Vester has been among the first awarded a $5,000 grant from the City of Sacramento as part of the Creative Economy Pilot Project. This prestigious award will kick start Michael's innovative G.R.O.U.N.D. project aimed to make dance more accessible and engaging through the use of interactive technology. CDP is excited to collaborate with Michael on G.R.O.U.N.D. as it will enable us to take our performances into any space and help us to continue to grow our outreach and education programs.
