Larissa KogutAs Capital Dance Project’s resident chef & yogi - Ms. Larissa Kogut returns to the Sacramento stage after completing her first season with Diablo Ballet. Originally from Buffalo, NY her passion for the performing arts guided her internationally to the National Ballet School of Canada, where she received her primary ballet training & later attended the collegiate ballet program at the University of Utah, before joining the Sacramento Ballet in 2013. Her professional career highlights showcase her strong classical & contemporary performance abilities as seen in Ma Cong’s Blood Rush, Don Quixote, Act I (Mercedes), Septime Webre’s Juanita y Alicia & as a featured performer in CDP’s annual performance of ‘Behind the Barre’. This past season she danced under the artistic direction of Lauren Jonas of Diablo Ballet, performing the works of choreographers Trey McIntyre & Robert Dekkers. Larissa dedicates much of her holiday season travelling throughout California performing as The Sugar Plum Fairy for many regional ballet companies’ production of The Nutcracker. This dancer & avid collector of rocks, breaks many of the ‘ballerina bunhead’ stereotypes – often trading her pointe shoes for hiking boots & spending time off-stage working on her original jewelry design. Larissa loves to chill out at local coffee houses like Old Soul, sampling sandwiches at Sampinos & enjoys discovering treasures at her favorite shop Zanzibar.
