Karina HagemeyerOriginally from Irvine, California, Karina is a return artist with Capital Dance Project – after premiering her choreographic work Natsumatsuri, in collaboration with Sacramento Taiko Dan in last year’s ‘Behind the Barre’ showcase. She holds a BFA from the University of Utah and dedicates much of her time to teaching local area students the art of ballet performance. Ms. Hagemeyer has graced the Sacramento stage in such featured roles as George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes (First Campaign Lead), Trey McIntyre’s Wild Sweet Love (Mexican Trio), Marius Petipa’s Swan Lake (Little Swan) and in the introductory performance of CDP’s: ‘Behind The Barre’. When not in the rehearsal studio, she spends her time working towards a degree in Graphic Design, or painting on large canvases in her backyard. Karina would like to thank her family for always being so supportive of her dream to be a ballerina, and for being equally as supportive once it was time to move on. Also to her fiance Iver, for his constant love and support through all the transitions and adventures that have come their way and are yet to come.
