Born in Davis, California, Julia Feldman was trained under the direction of Pamela Hayes at Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet. She began her professional career in 2011 as a trainee with the Sacramento Ballet, and was promoted to company member in 2013. During her time in the company, she has performed soloist roles in Ron Cunningham's Cinderella, Carmina Burana, & The Nutcracker, has performed extensive Balanchine repertoire, & has been featured in ballets choreographed by Jodie Gates, Ma Cong, Septime Weber, Darrell Grand Moultrie, & Gabrielle Lamb among others. As a choreographer, Ms. Feldman has choreographed for the Sacramento Ballet's annual program ‘Beer & Ballet’ since 2012, as well as for the School of the Sacramento Ballet. As a founding member of Capital Dance Project, she has played an integral role in the development of the organization’s mission & artistic integrity, & has created world premieres for the company in 2015 & in collaboration with composer Andy Tan in 2016. She has enjoyed spending the past three summers collaborating with emerging & established choreographers at the National Choreographer’s Initiative in Irvine, California under the artistic direction of Molly Lynch.
