Anthony CannarellaThis year marks Mr. Cannarella’s performance debut with Capital Dance Project, after serving as the music & lighting coordinator for last year’s presentation of ‘Behind the Barre’. A native of Madison, Wisconsin he received his primary dance education from the Monona Academy of Dance in Wisconsin & at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, PA. Although fresh to the Sacramento stage, Anthony’s energy has caused audiences to take note of his talent in such ballets as Ron Cunningham’s The Nutcracker (Prince/ Lead Trepek), Septime Webre’s Juanita y Alicia, George Balanchine’s Stars & Stripes, Ma Cong’s Blood Rush, & Don Quixote, Act I (Sancho Panza). Other performance highlights include Prince Seigfried in Kirk Peterson’s staging of Swan Lake. As a diverse dancer Anthony has the ability to switch between many forms of dance, comfortably trading his tights for tap shoes -he enjoys the freedom of the musical theater repertoire along with his ballet career. This newly promoted company member of the Sacramento Ballet is very excited to be a part of this unique & homegrown project. In his spare time, he can be found wandering & appreciating the exhibits of the Crocker Art Museum.
