ALEXANDER BIBERMember of CDP since 2015 (founding member)
A man of several artistic gifts, Alexander – or as he is more commonly referred ‘Biber’, was introduced to the performing arts at a young age, born into a theater family in Carson City, Nevada. It wasn’t until later in life that he began to concentrate more intently on his ballet training at Sierra Nevada Ballet, under the direction of Ms. Rosine Bena, before eventually joining the Sacramento Ballet in 2009. Sacramento audiences have enjoyed seeing Biber in a variety of different ballets including: Trey McIntyre’s Second Before the Ground, Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs (Something Stupid), Ron Cunningham’s Carmina Burana & George Balanchine’s Who Cares?. As well as performing, Biber takes great joy in creating new works for Sacramento Ballet’s annual ‘Beer & Ballet’ program, such original creations include: Royal Theme, As Time Goes By…, #Hipstoria & most recently Luck of the Draw. In the Summer of 2015 he premiered his narrative-based mystery work XIII, Murder At The Crest for CDP & last season he collaborated with Elijah Jenkins to create Stranger Places for the ‘Behind The Barre’ showcase. Biber is also a gifted dance photographer – capturing photos of rehearsal, backstage activities & intimate moments of the dancers, which are rarely seen by the audience. He balances his busy work schedule by surrounding himself with positive energy & many visits to his favorite shop, Zanzibar. |
