Capital Dance Project has come a long way since our inception in 2015, but one thing remains the same - passionate and innovative dance performances supported by our fantastic community.
Capital Dance Project is proud to return to the historic Crest Theatre for our third annual performance of Behind the Barre: Made in Sacramento, as well as to present Sacramento’s first-ever Sensory-Friendly Dance Performance sponsored by the Sacramento Kings and the Kings Foundation!
CDP's summer performance series will kick off on August 25th with a Sensory-Friendly Dance Performance that is designed specifically for individuals with Autism and their families. CDP is thrilled to receive sponsorship and support from the Sacramento Kings and the Kings Foundation to present Sacramento's first-ever Sensory-Friendly Dance Performance. Together, CDP and the Sacramento Kings will provide an opportunity for children with special needs and their families to meet and connect with the Sacramento community in a climate of acceptance and understanding.
On August 26th and 27th, CDP will premiere it's third annual performance of Behind the Barre: Made in Sacramento. CDP's resident choreographers have once again teamed up with Sacramento’s most exciting visual artists and musicians to captivate audiences with nine world premieres. This year’s featured collaborators include Raphael Delgado, Harley White Jr., Casey Lipka, Sunya Whitelight, Sarah Dedal, Andy Tan & Alison Sharkey, Mandy Zee, Paul Willis, Sambanda, and Maruyama Bonsai Nursery. These artists will create a mind-blowing, multi-disciplined performance that is sure to inspire audiences with their innovative partnerships.
