While born in Port Jervis, NY, Mr. Keane travelled southward at an early age with his family to South Carolina, where he spent his formative years and began his earliest dance studies. His passion for the performing arts was nurtured at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities, where he received the majority of his formal dance education. Dylan is a former member of the Richmond Ballet & of Suzanne Farrell Ballet, the latter with whom he toured to Oman & performed George Balanchine’s Dances Concertantes at the Royal Opera House Muscat in 2013. Throughout his dance career he has been a featured dancer in the works of popular choreographers Ma Cong, Gabrielle Lamb & Val Caniparoli & most recently danced the leading role of Basilio Don Quixote, Act I with Sacramento Ballet. In last year’s Capital Dance Project showcase ‘Behind the Barre’, Dylan presented his original piece Wait…Scratch That! to the music of Radiohead. Mr. Keane is thankful to once again be a part of such a loving group of artists & to have such a caring arts community in Sacramento. While discovering Sac-town on his bicycle with his dog Molly – Dylan likes to dine at Thai Canteen & enjoys challenging friends to a game of pool or darts at various local dives.
